O.K. Here's a weird one. I come home from work and say hello to my 18 inch clown knife as usual. I'm looking at him and doing the " oh you look so beautiful today, you handsome boy" speech when I notice that he is fatter than usual around the sides.
Specifically under the gills or back from them, literally bulging at the sides. Usually he is about almost 2 inches thick if you look at him straight on, so he was now about 4 inches wide in girth. Since I look at him all day, I didn't remember seeing him look that way in the morning, so my first thought was that he swallowed something he shouldn't have. I checked all the tank inhabitants but all was well. My son mentioned that he had been eating a lot lately, but I've never seen that kind of swelling after eating, it looked as if he had a bad attack of gas.
Of course I immediately flip out and try to find out the cause of this mystery, but had to postpone it because of an important phone call, then went out for dinner, anyway, by the time I get back home it had been a couple of hours and now the swelling is down by 50 percent! This morning it is gone completely, but I'm still wondering what it was or if I should be concerned for his health, is this a sign of something to come? Anyone out there ever see this type of thing?
