About two weeks ago I moved my male Pink Convict in with what I believe is my female Blood Parrot. She chases him a lot, and he flares his gills, but he is not aggressive whatsoever. They have lip locked twice, once when I first added the male, the other time during a water change. She has a cave that is she is territorial of, and he tries to go in it, but she always chases him away. He does manage to sneak it there with her at night when she is sleeping, though. Is any of this breeding behavior? She has become quite pale, I have never seen her this pale before, and I read somewhere that this could be a sign of spawning? She has always been slightly chubby, so it is not easy to tell if she is pregnant, or not. She is acting totally normal, otherwise.

Here she is:

im not an expert but when any of my fish lay eggs their breeding tube are down like that. are there any eggs yet?

Nothing is happening :irked:
Maybe the male is not big enough for her? They are pretty much the same size. When the lights are on, she does not want anything to do with him, and will just chase him if he is near her. But at night, when the lights are off she will join him on "his" side of the tank, and help him dig in the sand, like they are digging a pit, and also she helps him clear off a big flat rock. She is still pale, but I haven't seen any eggs. So I'm not sure what is going on, or even if they have even mated yet?

Any suggestions?
