So I got this one recently at my LFS, and it was much darker than this when I got it. Does this look like natural coloring, or will it take more than a week or two for stress marks to go away?

Alternatively, does it look like this "black spot disease" I've been hearing about?

Looks like it is still peeling. Could be stress too. Not black spot

Oh good, thank you! I was really concerned when I started looking up potential causes to eliminate and there was some weird disease/parasite on the list. (As a note, the streaks are bubbles not weird glass worms or something.)

At least I can eliminate that as a concern.

He's in a 55 with Bichir and another parrot and some rainbows. There's about 150 gallons of filtration on it give or take.

I hope to move them up to a larger tank in a year or so, income willing.

Sounds great what type of bichir?

An albino senegal at about 5" and a tiny little Ornate at around 3" (it's hard to tell with him since he seems to prefer to hide under things for the most part) and yeah I know the ornate is gonna get huge, he was sold to me by a dumbass that completely misidentified him.

Which I know is partially my fault, but I really don't have the heart to bring him back now. So massive water changes and hoarding giant filters it is.

So it's been a while since I posted this thread, and since then the dark markings have faded considerably - except for a few on her fins, as well as a dark spot that appeared suddenly within the last few days.

I had to catch her recently to move some stuff around to see if it would ease some conflict between her and another parrot. Could she have run into something?

Probably stress. When Parrots are stressed they develop random black spots. Are those real plants in the background?
