how you know it?

look at its mouth. if it makes a triangle ish shape and doesnt close thanit is a blood parrot. if it looks like a regular mouth that opens and closes it is a king kng. simple enough

Regular mouth means mouth like others chiclid such as flowerhorn ?

My parrot doesn't seem red enough...

I can see the vent, its a male. It should max out at 8 inches. If you want food that will enhance its color, try Hai Feng. It has a picture of a blood parrot on it.

Blood Parrot, appears to be male.

Blood Parrots are Hybrid Cichlids therefor belong in the Flowerhorn and Other Cichlid Crosses forum and not Other Hybrids.

king kongs generally have a larger hump on the forhead area as well from what i have noticed
