So which would be better for a red texas project? A blood parrot or a rose queen?

It depends on your preferences bright pinkish red or red orange personally I would go with the the rose queen but thats coming from someone that got only as far on a prodject as pairing a texas and bloodparrot up and then foolishly selling them before getting a batch of fry going

So you don't have any experience with either, but I should use a rose queen. Thanks?

I would use a rose queen or a mammoth. I like the blood parrots but here in Maryland everybody and their grandmother is using the two to create rt. If you have the money and tank space.... I would try them all to see what you get.

I have used bp & kkp for rt in the past. I have yet to breed a gt to a rose queen. I don't recall seeing any very nice red texas that came from a gt x rose queen. Does anyone have a nice rt that was a result of that cross?

Mammoth as in the extinct mammal? I don't think that will work.
Doesn't really matter as far as color goes because they will all fade to different shades anyways and that's using either (trust me). In my opinion rose queen throws too much of the nasty long faces like red devil from what I've seen.

Why the long face? You have any pictures of rqxgt? I guess it's just a crap shoot.

Any pictures? Both my texas and rose queen have long fins but the texas fins are longer. I would use the rq because my brother have two sets of fry from his bp and texas but they all have that ugly curved mouth. That's what I'm trying to stay away from.
