hi guys! I just bought a 3 inch blood parrot cichlid and i was wondering what would be good suitable tankmates for them?

pertty much anything....they can't open there mouth that far.

I have mine with african chiclids, no temperment or fighting.

How big is the tank we are talking about? And yes, parrots can defend them selfs....not good, but can.

a 60G tank. can it also hold its own with a 16" silver aro if fully grown?

PeeWee, because they're ornery yet can't defend themselves I only keep my Parrots with other Parrots. If you put them in with other cichlids they'll start a fight but can't finish it because of their mouths. If you put some sort of bottom feeder in there chances are they'll stress it to peices picking at it. It wouldn't be hurt physically but it'd be stressed to death.

I have a blood parrot in my mish mash of a tank and he does fine with all the other fish. He kind of keeps to himself and doesn't bother anyone. Also, he's pretty fast, so if someone goes to pick on him, he can get away.

Is the 16" aro in the 60g? That might be a problem.

I have 4 parrots with 3 gold severums and a chocolate plecostomus in my 150 gallon tank.
