I have a 55 gal stocking question.
Currently have 9 Cory cats and 1 bristlenose pleco.
I for sure want either 1 or 2 red blood parrots.

Maybe 1 angelfish since I know 2 or more can pair up and be bullies.

How many Boesmani Rainbows should I get and can I get all males or do I need females too?

Any modifications or other suggestions to the list?
Thanks

Not sure how much male female ratio matters for the rainbows. From what I know all male would reduce fighting but you get better colors if there are both males and females (just have more females than males in that case). About 6 would be a good sized school.
I wouldn’t put an angel with a parrot, the parrot would likely harass the angel.
2 parrots wouldn’t be too bad, may create some issues though.
Good option would be firemouth, convict, acara, rainbow cichlid pair, electric (or female) jack Dempsey, or severum.

I don't know about the rest of the fish except the BP's and some fish listed below, but i'm sure other fishkeepers can help.. Definitely don't recommend any angelfish as I have an angel with my BP right now and it's harassed all the time. The only reason I can even keep them together is because she sometimes gets bold enough to hit him in retaliation to stop him for a day or two. I recommend you get a Electric Blue Acara maybe as they won't notice them as a threat and ignore them, with the BP. I don't recommend two BP's as one will dominate and chase and annoy the other. I don't recommend a Firemouth as they will become aggressive when they grow older, and convicts are a no as well imo, as I had one who was only 2-3 months harass and attempt to fight a fish 2-3x times his size. But a good suggestion would be to maybe upgrade to a 70-75 gallon tank and do a Severum with the BP. The Severums are peaceful but won't take any trouble from the BP consistently. You could try a Jack Dempsey but it matters on it specifically as it could be a murderer or a calm little fish. Ive also heard good things about Rainbow Cichlids in this situation. Wishing you the best of luck, and please update on how it goes!
