they turn black sometimes due to stress (i was told) give them a few days and they should get back to normal, mine also did the same, but once they reached maturity they always stayed their true colour, at least mine did lol

Looks like a case of the black plague.. Just kidding I'm not really sure but I've seen it on parrots more than a few times and I don't think it's serious. It should fade back away eventually. But the cause of it I do not know..

my other big blood parrot stay in same red colour, only the small one turns black.
I also think they are little bit stress and give them sometimes

thanks a lot guys

I had some blood parrots and king kong parrots for almost two years. Sometimes that happened to mine, but to being honest I never knew what was the reason they start getting those black spots.

One of my theories its it may be due to methylene blue.

But Im not sure :irked:

its the process of fading, will turn redder each time they fade, i think.

I have few BP that has black spots appeared then disappeared from time to time but it was never permament.

young parrots do that. Somewhat like the fading isnt all the done yet. Some might never go away. I dont know about that. My Parrots still got some black marks. But they got them where I wish could stay forever. All 3 got 2 marks on each side of the forhead like they were drawn on horns. Coming and going depends on environment and mood. Some are just there no matter what it feels like.
