the Office living in the now...
Hello everyone,

I have raised my 3" (around there) parrots for almost a year in a 6'er and some grew fast some grew a little bit. At the beginning all 7 were brilliantly colored(like fire). They all get a varied diet along with my other fish. But now almost a year later the largest parrots being 5"-6" seem to be losing their red. They are more orange/pink/peach now.

This is my first time with blood parrots so is this normal?

Cause I sure miss the brilliant red they once were.

Feed them Massivores or Sinking Cichlid Gold........Mine are still Red Hot.

It is normal. There are a number of factors. One is the bloodline. They may of been dyed when you purchased them and it is wearing off. Two, water parameters make my parrots change. Once I change the water, they brighten up. Finally, they are maturing and some parrots just become pale as they grow older. However, diet can and will definitely aid in brightening your parrot up.

As they age they loose a bit of colour. It's normal.
