I have a BP with no notch or hump and a normal closing mouth and I was wondering if they grew out to be chubby like the regular BP because mine is just around 3" and it isn't chubby at the moment?

Its probably a hybrid with a flowerhorn or something, it'll probably be a bit round but not as much as a regular BP.

Pics?

It was purchased from petsmart in the blood parrot tank so I think it's a blood parrot, but I will try to get a photo up this evening if she is active because she just laid eggs.

Pics would definitely help with the I.D. PetSmart isn't known for always putting the right fish with the right label, or having a lot of staff that are knowledgeable enough to know the difference.

I got a couple from petsmart like this. This one I just got looks basically like a normal fish- it hasn't faded yet. But I don't know what it will turn into. Someone on here said it could be a Rose Queen. I wonder if someone just mixed the parents to create a bp but some come out without the notch or the fat body shape. I like the ones without the notch better though. I think they look better in my opinion. However if their mouth works they can be much more dangerous! Here is the one I got.

Her behavior is very similar to a BP where she can be shy sometimes so even though she doesn't have the physical features she does have the behavior.
