About 4 days ago I got 3 adult blood pigeon about 5 inches big. The owner said that they had spawned in the tank previously and that the other fish ate the eggs. I got then for $40 each. Im pritty sure this was a really good deal just wanted to know what everyone thought. Ill post pics later, does anyone keep this kind of discus? The male is amazingly colourful but the other two arents as much.

that is a good price for what I see around here. esp if they are breeding that triples the price most of the time. we gonna get any pics?

Yes that price is pretty good, I have 4 Discus but only one red, they seem to be harder to come by where I am from. Please post pics I would love to see them!

Just cause they spawn doesn't make them a breeding pair. The biggest percentage of discus that spawn, never raise the offspring past the wiggler stage.

From over here, a great deal. One of that size, with a good pattern from a dealer would be £40/$80 minimum, rough conversion.

Looking forward to the pics

No chance of them being white butterflies, not even close. They are pretty decent sized looking in the picture, approximately the size of a softball, and yet have very little coloration yet. What are you feeding them? In fact, they actually look like a cross breed. The stripes on the one in the first three pictures, is a sign that it isn't a pure pigeon blood.

Agreed, they don't look anywhere near pure pigeon blood, but still nice fish for the price
