Blood worms

Is it safe to use bloodworms from a fishing trip today to feed my SA chichlids or no because they were sold to me from a bait shop

I use to feed them to my fish. They loved them. I just can't find them any more. Just wash them off before should be fine

red wigglers? no problem. I have a hard time imagining baiting a hook with bloodworms. that'd be some small fish you're after.

There about 8 inches long idk what they are but the bait shop sold them as blood worms and they do squirt blood when hooked so idk

yah those are night crawlers.. They must have just regimmicked them with a name. I don't think you could get a blood worm on a hook. Wash them and feed them. Fish love them.

They are possibly leaches and not worms.

There not night crawlers they have a mouth with like 4 black hook like teeth and they are in a bag with what looks like sea weed I'll put a picture up when I get home tonight

ah, wikipedia has a pic of those. the bloodworms I'm familiar with are midge larvae. very diffferent.
they would probably be ok, but as with any new natural food, there can be problems. sometimes things that aren't poisonous to one something are poisonous to something else. if you really want to try, feed one to your least liked fish and wait a few days after watching closely for any adverse reactions. if you don't get any actual info from someone with experience with those things.
I've fed night crawlers and red wigglers without problems, but no actual experience with your type. I've never even seen those before.
