I wasnt sure where to post this and thought that the disease and health section would be best.

When i had my cichlid community tank i used to feed them frozen food, including blood worms once a week.

Everytime i did this i would have an allergic reaction but at first i was not sure what caused it. Over time i found out that if i came into contact with blood worms or anything that touched the blood worms...including my aquarium water i would break out in hives and have difficulty breathing. I am curious if anybody else out there has the same reaction. Any info would be good. thank you.

Its not an uncommon in fact if you read the container theres usually a warning that some may have an allergic reaction. With freeze dried bloodworms the reaction can be very serious from the dust inhaled-Anne

I cannot touch them. If I do I get an itch in my hands that is unbelievable. If, forgetting, I happen to touch my eyes or anywhere near them, my eyes turn like watermelons for nearly 12 hours.... frozen are the worst, for me...

ok well looks like all my future fish will go without blood worms!

i had my reactions to the frozen blood worm cubes. first my hands would touch my arms or face and then wham, im looking like chunk from goonies.

I once got allergic reactions when I touched bloodworms for the first time. I don't think I have any allergic reactions since then.
