well like all food that is left in the tank that doesnt get eaten, it they could start to rot and cause an increase in your nitrates...
 
mosquitoes, actually. but you have a short period before they start flying. they'll look less like worms and more like commas (mosquitoes without wings) you can select those out and feed them to your fish before they can fly.
 
Not much reason to feed live blood worms. As ming said, they will become insects. Almost all fish will accept blood worms in frozen form.

I've had a constant supply of bloodworms in my backyard that did turn into mosquitoes. The betta i had at the time got a steady diet of bloodworms from a water-filled pot i kept in the backyard. These were surely mosquitoes, so you have to be telling me that mosquito larvae are not called bloodworms.
