Are blotched patterned striped dats rare? An MFK member stopped by my work the other day and pointed one out.. I don't think I've ever seen one.

What are your thoughts? Anyone have pics of larger blotched striped patterned dats?

I put him aside and may grow it out at work to see how he turns out.

He pretty much has jagged stripes of a NGT but is an indo.

pics to show what you mean please buddy.

U think he means the non defined edges of the black stripes of ngt or say Cambodian tiger.

Doesn't sound uncommon....
Oddball ITs are more uncommon when the bars cross, or connect in v pattern.

Picture an IT looking like this:

I seperated him from the other dats to see if he will stable up. He looks pretty cool but I'm not sure if I want to keep this blotched one or a regular one.

they are not rare they are of very low grade

when ST started to become hard to find lots of the so called patchy ST came on to the market

this kind of tiger would normally be thrown back as they don't meet the grade this could be a sign that IT are now becoming harder to find

I find that hard to believe now that they are being bred and are available everywhere now..

I guess I'll put him back with the others now.

Thank you all for the input. :)

who told you they are being bred ?

can you show me any proof of breeding

The sellors in Thailand say they r being farmbred. I want to believe them, but i will not until I see the evidence.

I used to think IT were becoming rare, for the last 2 years, but not too sure now as I've noticed a lot more baby ITs for sale... in the last 6 months.. Asia, uk and US. plus a relative in Hong king also say lots of small ones for sale at mo.

I have noticed there are alot less NGT around for sale.

^ I can confirm that there has been a boom in shops selling Dats over here in Hong Kong, and not just small ones, large ones as well... it seems they are becoming really popular and a lot of shops are actually looking to take nice ones off customers, some even put up signs in their shops stating that they will pay good money for a nice looking dat...

All this happened only in the last few months or so if i remember correctly...
