Hello. I am going to be getting a blue acara. I know they stall small like 5-6'' but thats all I know about them. Are they peacuful or can they be aggressive? I plan on housing them with fei feng flagtails, plecos, and some more cichlids. Think they'd be ok in there? How can we tell male or female? What can I feed these guys?

They can reach around 8" although i have never seen one at that size, the few that i had last year grew very fast and never bothered anything.

I think a good comparison fish is the Firemouth, they are very earth eater like in habits and temperament.

I have heard storys of the odd crazy Blue Acara tho, but this is a rarity.

Ok good, the size would be good for me... :)
I have mine living with a firemouth, jd, texas, plecos, and fei feng. So Far so good. Yeah I see the eartheater in them.... lol
My blue acara has orange on his fins like a gold saum, does this mean he is a male or female?

If it is in the Tail, then it IS a Gold Saum, if just the top fin, then thats normal for Blue Acaras.
