Hi MFK, first post here so hi.
I thought I should ask my first question after snooping around the website for about 3 years now.
Recently I changed my stock in my 4ft 300ltr tank from general community fish to what started out as a central American cichlids plan but soon went South (American) aswell.
My question today regards my electric blue acara and my blue acara fry.
I have a pair of each, the eb acara are about 18 days free swimming and the blue about 10 days free swimming.
I left the fry with the parents because they was doing a great job in this heavily stocked tank.
Now the eb male is no longer defending the fry, only the female, he just stopped yesterday.
Is it time to remove them to grow up? There is only 4 left because the rainbow fish are fearless but not stupid and have taken the rest. The blue acara fry are doing better in regards to numbers, at least 10 remain and both parents take the fry out into the open on a daily basis.
When should I take them?
