This pair literally paired off at the beginning of the week and put down a fairly large clutch (imo) just days later. These guys have been in the tank for about 3.5 weeks and barely pushing 3" Their colors are pretty awesome imo.

It's quite hilarious with the fact that they had multiple caves to go to and they chose to go right in the middle of the tank on an anubias leaf.

Awesome looking pair. Did you know you had a pair when you bought them or just lucked out? Full tank shot?

Thanks. They pig out constantly. I bought 6 of them, hoping a pair would form. Those eggs literally dropped in the last 6 hours. We had some errands/dr visits this morning and I was planning to do a water change today when I got home but looks like I'll hold off a bit for now. I had planned to take out the remaining 4 blue acara and donating them to one of our nicer LFS, but the eggs going to stall that a bit for now.

As you can see there, if you get anywhere near the tank all the RH taps and heckelii swarm the front up and down waiting for food. Almost all of them will hand feed. It's pretty cool.

She's still dropping eggs.. How much do they generally drop in their first clutch?

Wife and daughter pointed out this morning that the eggs have black dots on them now, look like the fry getting ready to hatch. Not expecting a high survival rate, if any, due to the location they spawned and the amount of fish in the tank (silly fish put their eggs right down next to the ac100 filter which has the suction of an industrial hoover.

I'm going to get the d40x out and try to get some pics of them, but I'm such a novice with that camera I'll consider it a miracle if I get a shot that is usable.

Never did manage to grab a good picture; the pair kept moving the fry after they hatched. The fry are easily visible now and swimming in a small ball that the pair keeps 'guiding' to stay in the same area. Pretty good parenting it looks like; easily 100 fry still around. Will see what it looks like when the other fish start finding strays ;D
