blue aro

I saw a blue aro that was about 14" going for $500 at a pet store. the guy said they dont ship them anymore. Is this fish way overpriced?

its a black arowana. sometimes called blue. not sure if theyre not shipping them anymore but that price is ridiculous. a few months ago my LFS had a 12" for $200 and i thought that was expensive

yeah those prices are pretty high but to think of it, its pretty hard to come by a black/blue arowana. I guess because of the scarcity people boost up the price but 500 for the arowana is too over price unless its an asian haha then thats cheap.

the same store is also selling 7 inch silver aro's for $50, and 11-12" for $70. From what Ive seen on web sites and other fish stores that seems like a decent price. How do you tell if it has drop eye?

If the eyes dont cant look up but just stays drooping down at the bottom of the tank.
