Blue catfish info.

I just bought a 4.5" blue catfish. Could you guys please give me some info about their growthrate and their diet. thank you!

All I know is they get enormous and i think they are open water fish (more pelagic than, say, a flathead) but if you can house an arapaima then I guess you can house a blue catfish.

Quite sure that they are omnivores and a varied diet would be best, they probly eat like pigs

Do you know how many inches they grow per month?

There is not set amount as to what they grow per month. There growth can be slowed based on the amount of food they get.

Yea I have no idea about growth rate, assuming that it is quite fast tho.


this is the only time I've seen a blue catfish in person.

take some pics, it is already hard to get a small blue catfish in America not to say you are in Philippine! Their grow rate as fastest that I know is about 2''/month, there is not much information about them as they are not that common in home aquarium!
