Aquascape has some for sale right now, and they look totally freaking awesome. Are they really going to look like what they do in the pictures, and continue to look like that as they grow? They are more than expensive, so I don't want to dish out the bucks for one of those and be disappointed with the way it looks.

Does any one here have one? If so, could you post pictures or tell your experiences with it?

Reason I am asking is because at the LFS I work at they have given me permission to setup a display tank of my choice. I know most of you guys think I should do a shoal of rbs or caribe, but I really want this tank to be unique and really make people stop and stare at it. Something they aren't going to see normally. Thus the blue diamonds.

Thanks!

Tellemuno has a 8" blue diamond I believe. Colors probably get better with age.colors should be the best when they reach maturity.

Do you think most people aren't going to stop and stare at a shoal of mid to large size caribe? Most people don't normally see any piranhas other then red bellies. Sounds like you've made your mind up though

Which pic(s) are you refering to though on the site? Colors morph as all piranhas age and care, water quality, food and background all play a part in it.

I would stop n stare at any piranha.but I know a pack of rbp or caribe would definitely catch my eye quicker!than 1 solitary fish!

There is a chance they would yes, but its just as much for me as it is for them. Haven't made up my mind completely about it, but its strongly leaning that way. Its still a ways in the future, so it may change.

Main thing is people think that RBPs are the only piranhas out there. I wouldn't mind opening their eyes. Most people would also assume that caribe were red bellies unless told otherwise. So I really am wanting to do something completely different. :) No offense guys, but its not going to be a pygo tank. Sorry. I might do my own personal tank that way, but not this one.

We can agree to disagree :)

Does it defeat the purpose to have somethin in your display tank that you don't sell in the store? I can't see how that helps business. Just curious on that.

Here's a few members that i know have/had them

They can share their own experience though. lol, i won't talk for them

Lol It would just make people go elsewhere to find them fish. Why not 2-4 rbp n 2-4 caribe n throw in a piraya for good measure.that show people there's More than just rbp. School of 5cusp piranha be awesome too. Or a small pack of gold spilos?
