usually 4.5 5 inches. it takes them a long time to reach that breeding point. cichlid-forum.com/profiles

I bred these fish when the parents were 2 inches, at the most..

The cichlid forum information is not correct.. at least in my case

Cheers

you started breeding blue dolphines when they were 2 inches... thats crazy...now does this 2 inches count tail fins? It would be strange for them to do that... I know mbuna breed small but most haps take longer since they get so large...but congrats on that... glad to hear the success... still doing it? How many fry do you usually get from them... I was just wondering... I have started to see them more in the trade...

mine were mean little snots. i got rid of them b4 i had time to breed them

my moorii dolphins are breeding and they are no more than 4". The female is probably less. I was quite surpirsed to see them breeding at such a small size. Everything I have read says they need to be much bigger.

Why not use the correct names for the fish. You won't then spend half :screwy: the time trying to find out what exact fish a person is referring to.
Cyrtocara moorrii is the name. They tend to be rather slow growers so I would think that 4" is the smallest they would be before breeding.
:naughty:  :headbang2 :nilly:
