I've been told recently that it is almost impossible to get blue-eyed panaques now as they're almost extinct. Is this true?

they are rare theyre natural habitats are being destroyed.

i would kill you for one. hahahaahaah. jk. i think thats how rare they are though. i have seen only 2 in my lifetime and both were EXTREMELY high priced and well worth it in my opinion.

The Panaque suttonis are near impossible to find today. In fact, when one does become available, it usually demands hundreds to more than $1000 to get it. P. cochliodon is another type that is still brought in fairly regularly. This species has a more elongate snout than P. suttoni and the eyes are a more muted blue.

i havent seen one for years now. i think at least 10!!!! maybe more. but they are magnificent fish and someone needs to breed them on a larger scale to make them more readily available
