ok i have a couple of questions for you first 1. how many plecos do you have together? 2. do they fight alot? and how much space do you give them.

i am asking cause i'm really into my plecos i just got a killer deal on a mango 4" for 30 bucks with great great color wow couldn't pass that up and i have a 7" albino gibby, and a 3 1/2" royal. now the royal and the gibby are together and they get along wonderfully they eat together but will not share their own private space. i really really want to put my mango in with them. is this a good idea ??? also should i move to a bare bottom tank like you did would this help???? this is a 48" long tank with 12" width. i also have three red hooks three rose line barbs a flagtail and a couple of red flying foxes. i was just wondering what you thought and of course if i did put the mango in there i would watch the tank for over 24 hours very carefully to make sure they didn't beat eachother up. but i really love my plecos and i want to put that mango in my main tank.

p.s. moving to a 75 gl. in two months should i wait for that ???? thanks so much and your plecos are wonderful they look very happy :)

About 10 months ish I supose:confused:, not a year yet anyway;)

@ Wingate,

1. how many plecos do you have together? Erm, lots lol

2. do they fight alot? and how much space do you give them.

During meal times :popcorn:they scuffle but during the day there fine. If you dont have the balance of fish right it will end in tears though, size ratios need to be looked at if your doing a big comm tank. Lots of seperate teritorys and feeding at opposite ends of the tank helps. Small Royals tend to be docile compared to adults. My tank is 7ft x 2ft x 2ft, Floor space is key:D

Your mango should be fine in that tank, keep up your water changes and filter cleans........plecos are waste machines!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks so much for the info i am going to go for it and remove some more garvel first as you are right they are poop crazy :)
