I baught 5 bgjd from fish farm. I'm kind of bumbed out, they were suppose to be 2.5-3 in long but only 1 of them were 2.5 and rest were about an inch. Other than that great looking and healthy fish. Anyways, I know ebjd are very fragile and have very slow growth rate, while normal dempseys grow quiet fast under proper circumstances. My question is, is it the same with blue gene dempseys? Thanks

Kens fish are usually small but are always healthy and great quaility. Give them time and you'll be happy. I don't think there is a difference in growth between BJ and normal, but I'm not 100%. EB def seem to grow slower.

Ive had Blue genes and EBJD's together and the Blue genes outgrow the EBJD's. Id say Blue Genes grow just as fast as regular JD's.
For all intents and purposes, BGJDs ARE JDs. A recessive gene is not going to have any impact on the fish.
