My LFS claims to have one. is there such a species of GG that is blue?

i grabbed a picture of it on my phone but it was deleted. i'm going back tonight to take a shot.

does anyone know if these GG's can be kept with a Jardini?

def not a RTGG. no red til thats for sure. when i was there i had him pull it out of the pond to get a better look and it was blue. not black or dark grey, but blue.

my jar is 10" and the "blue" GG is about 17"

the lfs told me that he has been bought and returned back 4 times. he keeps killing and beating up his new tank mates.

since he is bigger and meaner. is it a possibility for jar and GG?

yes as stated above rtgg do have a blue tint to them somtimes , and somtimes even the average giant gourami will have some what of a blue colouration (but mostly on the fins) they probably just dyed it.

I don't know much about jardini's but they are both large fish that can hold their own and if they are not overly aggressive could probably live together , but juvenile giant g's can be very bad tempered so you might want to wait untill it's an adult (as they tend to mellow out with age)

As tough as Jardinis are I think that Gourami would win if it decided to fight. A big bulky 17" G against a slender 10" J could have nasty results for you Arowana.

may jar is mean though...every fish i have tried to put in there ended up in the hospital with melafex.. he's actually more towrads the 11-12in side and bad tempered...he's in a 206 gallon by himself and won't let anyone in. but he needs a tankmate at some point.

Its not that the temperment is the problem its the bulk of the gourmi is to large compared to your jardini.
