Just want to know if Blue hawk trash cans are safe for aquariums? i want to make them into a large trickle sump for my 300.. i find it may be cheaper and easier to build. but i am not sure if the plastic is safe for aquariums!

Probably made with polyethylene and that is fine for fish. Polypropylene is another plastic sometimes used and that is fine for fish.
BTW...these didn't get very good reviews...and the discription says they are made of resin....whatever that is.
Maybe a different brand.
hmm the reason why i ask its because it has a flat side. i saw it while shopping at lowes for building a different fish project... but I googled it and saw that it can leech chemicals into the water... but that was for salt water holding tank.... im using it for a sump...
