Blue LED Lights

If I ran blue LED strips across the tank and run them all night would it create algae? I'm talking about a couple strips with at least 50 LEDs in each and not a single moon light.

Could blue LEDs also tan a white fish? Meaning my silver arowana in our pond is almost black from the sun. Can white LEDs do the same because my friend said his fish tanned but he's not running LEDs?

I wouldnt think so. Wrong light spectrum

Are you using the led strips that people are starting to use over reef tanks to grow coral? If so have you checked the spectrum on the bulbs to see what range they cover? Depending on the spectrum that they cover there is a chance of algae growth from them. Depending on the par the leds give off and how many you install i'm sure there could be some effects to the coloration of your fish.
