hey everyone its been a while since i posted last...
i have a 30g setup with a blue lobster..or i guess its a crayfish.. and it molted. i thought that the molt might mess up the water quality so i took it out and put it in the trash. i also heard that lobsters eat their molts for the calcium so they can regrow their shells faster. is it bad to take the molts out of the aquarium?
thanks

i've heard the same. the calcium helps their new shell harden quicker.
i had a cray and didn't know, so i removed it and he was fine, but he was only ina tank with feeders, so nothing could get him in his vulnerable state.
is yours alone?

Yes they will eat there molts but not all ways if its still there after 2-3 days then remove it and make sure you give it a good hideing spot i'm sure you know that when they molt there soft and VERY Vonerible to being eaten even dwarf cichlids and angles are a threat to them so be careful

thanks for the response guys.
hes in a tank with some tetras, a pleco, and a krib.
the krib isnt very aggressive and hasnt shown aggression towards others in the tank....could this change after he molts?
