Blue Lobster with RBPs?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
how many rbp's and how big are they? if they're small, you're probably going to be OK for awhile. the bigger they grow, the more likely they are to make him the main course of a lobster buffet.

3 RBPs that are about 4".

My girlfriend was at the pet store and brought a 2"ish+ Blue Lobster home because she thought it was cool and it was already living with a bunch of RBPs at the store.

Sooner or later, lunch. ;)

so i guess i just let him be for now, will he at least help clean up?

He will eat leftover food bits, for sure. But then he'll poop them out! So, kind of, but not really...

If you want to keep him, I'd suggest a ten gallon tank. That's what I keep mine in (I only have one, too). Throw in a coffee mug, get a little HOB and an airstone, and he'll be happy. They're funny little guys. I love the pose he gets when I walk up to the tank... arms raised... like he's ready for a fight. He does the same thing to the cats.

haha, yea he seemed pretty crazy when i first stuck him in the tank. i'd keep him, but i don't know. maybe i'll just let him become a little meal.

i had a crayfish in the tank as well.. 6inch rbps n crayfish was like 3.5inch
he lasted for about 2 months living off leftover bits of shrimp and he had a hiding spot.
one morning i came and he had no tail and missing half his face :(
