I have a Female Blue Lobster in my 21 Gallon tank. It is buried deep under a log and is carrying her eggs. this is the second time in a 2 month period that she has been carrying fertilized eggs. I've had her for 6 months and I have no male in my tank.

The first attempt at having her babies, all my nice little gold fish ate them, so we are excited that she is attempting again to have babies. Any suggestions on how to protect her and the babies. My tank is too wide to work with a divider.

Any suggestions on whether I should separate the lobster in a floating fish hotel to protect her and her babies?

My daughter really wants these babies, but I'm not interested in buying another tank.

Welcome to the forum. I'll move your post to freshwater inverts, you'll get a better response there.

Try putting more hiding places in your tank like flower pots with cut-outs so the lobsters can hide. You may just want to feed your goldfish more so they wont bother your babies. If starting a new tank is too hard for you, try your foating fish hotel, or get a plasic 5 gallon tank built for bettas. These tanks are easy to set up; just add gravel specialized for fish bowls, and water from your aquarium, and you're done. No filter, or chemicals to add to the water. The only thing you need is your lobster.

well i have breed a crayfish she was with 6 other crays. she was much bigger than the others so she was able to defend 4 a little bit. butshe defended to death and she died because she would never have time to eat so she became weak and was killed. but two was able to hatch. so to answer your questioni would say put more hiding places and try to help her defend
