Is there such a thing as a freshwater Lobster or they are crawfish? I asked that because when I went to the store a month ago I brought what I believe was a blue lobster, ( It sayed blue lobster in it ) and today while telling some ppl that I have one at home, they replied saying that there is not such a thing, that they are craw fishes. What is the difference between them, I mean I know what I lobster looks like and what I have in my tank looks like a lobster only that it is blue and small. any help plz????

is just a species of crayfish, my friend.... sells better at the petstores if they call em lobsters. my blue "lobster" has gotten huge, but after he molted several times has reverted to a more normal brownish coloration. still has a little blue on the insides of his larger claws though... i would prefer the blue though... at his size, would be a wild site!! good luck with yours!!!

There are several kinds of crayfish ranging from very small to very large. I think that the main difference between them and lobsters is that crayfish hatchout as little crayfish but lobsters go through several planktonic instars.
