Hi Everyone -

I have some questions about my Blue Female P. Clarkii "in berry". I brought her home a month or two ago for my male. He's tiny so I've kept them apart and was waiting to introduce them until he's molted more and is bigger (she looks full grown).

The last week she dug a huge pit in the gravel on the side of the tank. I took a flash light down there as she is not eating lately and see she's "in berry". I am not surprised as I took her from a tank that had 5 big males in it (huge claws - hers were small and stubby).

Some of the eggs are white and some are tan... Are some fertile and some not? (If so, which is which?) OR do they change colors? I have not been able to find any info on this on the internet, but maybe I am not searching the right thing...

Does anybody have any info on this? If you do, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks in advance!

I see a lot of people posting their crays and berries at the bluecrayfish.com forum. My cray was in the same situation as yours. My only problem was she was going to have her babies while I was on Thanksgiving vacation (Usually akes 4 weeks or so). As I had dreaded, when I got back the berries were gone and no little crayfish to be found anywhere.

And its over :( Came home yesterday to see she ate them... Sucking. But on the upside, my male molted and looks bigger. One more molt and I think they will be of similar size so I can introduce them. I'm gonna check out that site and see if I can get any info for future reference. Thanks for the post! PS - Love your cray. Great pics!
