blue phantom breeding and other pleco question

I have a three in a half inch male blue phantom(I know its a male because he has the long and lots of spines on his sides as well as some on his front fins) and was wondering how I can go about breeding him with another phantom but how can I make sure its a female?wat also should I feed any fry but my main question is there will be a leopard sailfin the same size in the tank, will he try to eat the fry? other inhabitants include small cory cats and small tetras.
