this is the giant river prawn, should i expect the same pretty much?ok so i looked at the pics and this is what i have i beleive.by the looks of things they dont belong in a mixed tropical huh.i do have one big heavy stalked plant(anubias nana)fish wise i have live bearers mostly, gouramis and a pair of kribs.i have a butt load of snails and 2 bamboo shrimp.should i get rid of the prawn?i do love the looks and active nature tho.

Im not sure if your saying you have Macrobrachium rosenbergii or not but if you read the paragraph below it mentions the adults are kinda agressive. So I guess it depends on the size of your prawn. Im not sure what your financial situation is but I would just get a seperate tank. Macrobrachium rosenbergii get big, and if you plan on keeping it you'll probably have to get one sooner or later.

"Adult prawns, especially females, can be voracious. Even zebras and young neons are neither too small nor too fast to evade a hungry prawn, even in large (50 gallon or larger) aquaria. Plants can also be uprooted or devoured: the nibble marks on my plastic plants will attest to how far a prawn will go. However, I have raised post-larvae and young juveniles in planted aquaria with some assorted livebearers and tetras with no problems -- prawn attacks on fish or vice versa. So in general. I think experienced aquarists will notice that the care and keeping of prawns is not much different than, for example, cichlids." ( http://www.miami-aquaculture.com/sm scale macrobra.htm )
