I have a 29g somewhat planted (waiting for replacements probably due to frozen in transit, and also petco's non-aquatic aquatic plants) and a healthy amount of algae. 7 Cardinals, an oto (more once the LFS gets more), and 2 rams.

Here's the fun part... I'm pretty sure that both rams are females because they both have a pronounced pink belly spot. I'm waiting to find a decent pair of males to introduce from a different source, to at least negate some inbreeding. I noticed they were digging a hole in the corner below the heater, and thought it was funny. Looked back an hour later, and found a ton of eggs. I'm assuming nothing will come of this except some ammonia and a need to siphon them out, but any comments?

They're really neat fish, you get the cichlid personality, without the "murder everything else" mentality. I've had Africans in the past, as well as some larger SA, but am enjoying playing with the whole "planted" community. Fish seem to have eaten the eggs finally, which is odd because they are well fed, but I'm still 95% sure I have a pair of females. Waiting on the LFS to get more in.
