blue spotted stingray substrate

i supose it would be similar to pea gravel but made from coral .

i got a small bag as i heard that coral gravel was sharp but after i bought some and checked it out it doesnt seem any more sharp that other substrates. i cant see a problem with using it so thought i would ask .

Fine sand is the way you want to go - they like to burrow/bury themselves, and this can be difficult with anything larger than fine sand, and can lead to scratching the wings/belly.

Never use something that rough for your rays, as mentioned before it will scratch their undersides and lead to infection and disease. I use a oolite grade substrate which is a little coarser than play sand and they bury themselves in it easily.
