Hi all,

I noticed this morning that my blue tang was white spots all over him, of varying sizes. In addition he has what appears to be 2 ulcer like marks on him. I have managed to get a pic of one of them.
I will have my hospital tank setup tomorrow, and will hospitalise all of my fish. I was just wondering on the best course of action to treat this ?

I am 99% sure that he has ich (he has been visiting the shrimp more frequently, and rubbing against the rocks) my only doubt is the appearance of the ulcer type marks.

would welcome any other opinions.

Personally it looks more like marine velvet than to me. Symptoms and treatment are similar. I'm assuming it isn't brooklynella since he'd be dead by now.

If it is marine ich then you're gonna have to keep the main tank fishless for about 30 days to let the remaining parasites die. Or buy a UV and never worry about it again!
