Hello all, I picked up what was labeled as a "Blue Thunderbird Cichlid". Anyone heard the name before? It's almost certainly a Caquetaia species, I was hoping spectabilis based on the name. However the fish started showing two additional small blotches behind the head after getting it home, so now I'm thinking C. krausii

It's about 3" long, staring to show blue spangles on the body and a red colour in the anal and caudal fins.

I'll post a pic when I get home, but for now I was wondering if juvie spectabilis show those spots as well, as it's mentioned in that "Anything Caquetaia" atlas reference in another thread.

I never heard of it before, just Googled it and nothing came up. Got any pictures?

Just saw you would post pics later.

I'll put some up tomorrow when I get home. It looks just like a C. kraussi however, but with a fair bit of blue and some red on the caudal fin. I'm still holding out hope that it's a spectabilis however lol.

i can see it already. It's a Kraussi

Do kraussi have blue spangling? I didn't think they did. I would think it would be either spectabilis or umbriferum.
