Look I'm trying to decide what kind of shark i want. i don't know to much about sharks period just starting off. I cant find any information on the blue torpedo shark. I just don't know how long or big it will get and just needing general info on them. please or even a good website i could visit. thanks ;-)

do you have a species name for that? if it is FW, is it some kind of South American catfish

What size is your tank and what fish are in it? Is the tank already cycled?

they enjoy taking bites out of larger (and smaller) tankmates. Can be a real nuisance in an established tank. Need lots of swimming room

Is that another name for the iridescent shark? That's the first thing "blue torpedo" brings to mind for me. If that's the case, they are a VERY large Asian catfish that can get over 3' given the proper conditions. They are also quite active unlike many catfish and so require a LOT of room. Also, as they grow their color changes to almost jet black with reddish eyes

I think I've seen what you're talking about at my LFS. I believe it's some type of catfish. It's bluish gray and always moving with it's mouth open. It is a cool looking fish. I believe they are actually called blue whales or Peruvian Blue Whales. Here's pictures. http://www.thejump.net/id/whale-catfish.htm The Doctor.

yeah blue whales are what most people call them ........very aggresive but very cool fish most keep in tanks by themselves

the species name is cetopsis coecutiens, people call them many diffrent names baby whale cat, blue shark cat, blue torpedo shark, blue whale shark. im trying to find one myself
