Picked up 3 of these guys at LFS last week because they looked unique. By the markings Im saying some sort of trimac or FH but Ive never seen anything with this base color any ideas what it could be? not the best pics but they are basically an intense blue with trimac markings. There was no label on the tank and the store owner called it a "blue three spot cichlid" any ideas?

looks like sum sort of trimac/flowerhorn hybrid. that colour does look unique. the only other flowerhorn who has blue that i know of is the thai silk. better pics will help

yeah cant really tell from the pics at all, but probably a FH carpintis mix

Even from the blurry pics we can see that is has more spots on it's side than a pure bred Trimac...

I've never personally heard of a "Blue Trimac"...

As uncommon as Trimacs are and as common as "low grade" Flowerhorns are... I think it only safe to accept it's a Flowerhorn of some sort...

With the frequency of people trying to "make new Flowerhorns" it doesn't surprise me to see an abnormal hybrid.

Sorry best pics I could get. See what you mean by the extra spots now most likely FH. As far as grading a FH I have no idea what is "high grade" or "low grade". It's different than any others I've seen and It looks good to me. Thx for the info. Should have posted in hybrids section

looks almost dyed

yeah i dont think its dyed, it just has a lot of carpintis in it to get the bright blue color, either way its a pretty cool looking fish
