I want to know if there is anything that i can use to make my water stay a dark blue like when i put ick medicine in the tank. The only thing i can think of is food coloring, but im not sure if that is safe for the fish.If you know of something please tell me and thank you to anyone that responds.

Lol this is the first time I have ever seena question like this most people are asking how to clear there water up. That may look pretty cool. I dont know about food coloring Id think it would be harmful to the fish. Id like to see what other people say about this.

I'm curious as to how you are so sure food coloring would harm the fish...

Either way, there is a pond dye called Aquashade (I'm sure there are other brands too) that is used to make decorative ponds blue (horribly tacky IMO, but to each his own). You'll probably have better luck finding it in the spring when garden ponds become more popular. It's usually extremely concentrated, so the smallest size bottle they sell would probably last years (decades?) for a single tank

Methylene blue turns the water blue. It's used as an anti-fungal, I believe, but I'm not sure of the results using it long-term. It's safe enough to use on eggs (some breeders use it when they raise eggs to fry themselves, rather than allowing the parents to do it) but again, I'm not sure about long-term use.

+1

You're not supposed to use methylene blue in your tank without a valid reason of treating for fungal and bacterial infections (corrective treatment).
