LAKEHOOD
I recently picked up a bluegill and two largemouth bass (Bluegill ~4 inches) (Bass ~4inches, and ~5-6 inches). With that being said, i don't know which one to keep. I'm planning/wanting to just keep one to become really big rather than keep them all together their whole lives. How big and fast do the bluegill and bass grow in an aquarium? I prefer to keep a big bluegill but I don't know if mine will grow bigger anytime soon or if it is even capable of doing so. Anyone have any input with their experience?

in a 90G tank with 4 bluegill and 5 longears, the biggest fish is a gill at 5-6 inches. they went in the tank mid april 2011 and were about an inch long.

genarly slow growers

Haha! GillBlue shows that they are generally not slow growers. Sunfish will grow extremely fast in the first 1.5-2 years of age (depending on species), then will slow down as they become sexually mature. But in a 90 gallon, you have the space for a chunky bluegill.

LMB, and most sunfish for that matter, grow super fast if they're being fed often. I've seen .5" LMB grow to over 8" in less than a year.

90 gallon is a nice size tank for a few sunfish but the bass will become to large for a 90. I have a bass now that was about 4" when I got him and 9 months later he is over 13".

I had a LMB, very aggressive.....

He wasnt at first, but as he got bigger which happened very very fast, he got more and more aggressive till my other fish all hid in the corner of the tank, huddled in a group, even though he wasnt big enough to eat them they wanted no part of him.
