greetings. I currently have a 2in bluegill in a 55 gallon tank with 4 large gouramis, 2 blues, and two pearls, the tank also has 4 bristlenose plecos, a bee cat, and a sydono cat of some kind. it is eating flakes like a wolf but I want to know if it will pose a threat to the other fish as it ages? it bothers nothing right now, but will that chnage

Behaviorally, sunfish are a lot like cichlids- as it matures, it may get aggressively territorial, especially if it's a male.
Bluegills have relatively small mouths, so it probably won't eat it's tankmates... but it might try to.
They do get pretty big- 10+ inches is not uncommon, so bear that in mind. You may eventually be dealing with
a foot-long, aggressive predator that won't tolerate tankmates.

Zoonose is correct your Bluegill will become territorial during mating season and will need a larger aquarium than your 55g in one to two years when it gets bigger; they should be ok until then though.

Fortunately bluegills aren't the fastest growing thing. You should have at least a year before you need to upgrade him.

The ones ive kept seemed fine until they started building their nest, then its "get outta my tank punk" lol
