Bluegill/ Sunfish Question

Anyone know if they are jumpers? Got a tank perfect for my little guy, but I dont want him jumping...

I've heard of them jumping and winding up on the floor. Always better to be safe than sorry.

Heres the deal with the cover... I had a acrylic box set that came with filter and hood and light all in one compact unit. The filter that's on it IMHO is way to small for the tank. I would love to overfilter it with a hob... but that would sacrafice the hood. The acrylic box sets are weird shaped little bow fronts, and impossible to just buy hood.

whats different about the hood that makes it unable to use a HOB? sometimes there is plastic edging that you have to cut to shape the size of your HOB

I could cut it, but it would cut into the light fixture. its a 50-60 gal hob on a 20 gal

A 20 isn't gonna last a bluegill/sunfish very long...they can get 6+ inches pretty easily. Yes, there are some smaller species but I'm assuming your taking about true bluegill or green sunfish.
