I listen to some. Mostly the newer stuff: Nickel Creek, Allison Kruass, that kind of stuff. There is a radio show on here Saturday night that has a bluegrass hour with older stuff and I catch that whenever I can. I'm not that up on the name of songs, or who sings them, but it sure is fun to listen too!
I also listen to my dad play, he plays with a local bluegrass band on weekends in the summer.
I was born about 40 miles from the birthplace of Bluegrass music! Bill Monroe is an all time favorite of mine. I am not sure I like modern bluegrass as much as the old stuff. Ever hear Johnny Cash do Paradise (originally by Bill Monroe)? It is an awesome version that song always gets to me because I am from just outside the area that is mentioned.
I love it, but I really dont know enough about it. I have all the music channel things on cable and find my self randomly listening to the bluegrass channel. I do live in KY too. I dont care if you like it or not but the bluegrass greats are some AMAZING musicians!
Im not really big into it as far as learning all the bands and buying all their CDs. I really like the old Outlaw Country like waylon, the hag, hank I, II &III and so on but i do have a box set of allison krause and union station.
