Anyone know of a good, preferably free, blueprint software? I'm trying to find something I can mock up some tank builds with to give me a better view of how things will fit and what they'll look like complete. I'm not computer wiz either so something fairly easy to use would be best. Anything more complicated than Photoshop should be avoided considering I sometimes get confused on Photoshop as well. Any ideas???????

I can only do so much with a pencil and grid paper lol

P.S.: I figured this was the best place to post this considering I would be using this software for DIY builds.

I downloaded it and it seems pretty good. Still trying to figure everything out on it, but eventually I will have some mock ups for new tank, stand, and filtration builds! Not trying to give too much away, but the next tank build will be atleast 500g +/-

Well after only messing around for a couple hours, this is what I came up with. It is a very rough and un-finished version of the 225g tank build. I still have a lot I need to figure out on SketchUp so eventually I will have some better models to show everyone. Updates will be in the 225g build thread. Link is in my signature for anyone interested

Tried to do a mock-up of a brace for a different thread yesterday with Sketch-up. OMG, is that program screwy. Every time I tried moving something around it did something completely different than what I wanted. Maybe I just need more practice with it, but generally I can jump right into using new software without a hitch. I need to find a copy of AutoCAD somewhere.

yeah I have had some troubles with it, but it's free so I can't complain. I have heard AutoCAD is awesome, but super expensive unless you find an activation key for free somewhere then you can just download the program and use it. Hopefully I can figure this out better so I can get some better quality models for everyone to see. The massive mess in my basement is what is keeping me from finishing my tank build and getting REAL pictures lol
