My blue eye pleco arrived at 10:30 this morning and is doing great :) . I dont have a digital camera but I will post pics as soon as possible of him. I was really nervous about his well being and making the trip to Texas from Cali. I wonder if Bluey is lonely in the 75 gallon aquarium all by himself or if he loves all the free space to roam. I did leave the dark blue gravel ( an expert pleco man told me it was fine as long as I do the weekly 30 percent water changes ). I also added driftwood and three plants. Two of the three plants are in the back left of the tank and Bluey seems intend on hiding back there at the moment . I can honestly say that its not so much the rarity that attracted me to him ( its the blue eyes ). I wonder if I should feed him an algae waffer tonight or wait until Wednesday night. Do you pleco lovers feed your plecs while the light are on or only after you turn off the lights in the room and the aquarium???

Never had blue-eyed panaques. I do have ancistrus which won't initially take kindly to being fed in daylight so I had to feed at night. They'e out and about all day now.lol

Lupin ( my friend ) thanks for the quick reply you :headbang2

Should I feed him tonight or Wednesday night ?

Wednesday night is better. You got him only today so he is most unlikely to approach his meal as he needs more time to become accustomed to your tank. Happens with new arrivals a lot of times although there are exceptions but leftover foods aren't worth fouling the tank water.

Would be better to wait on the food. Let him adjust, then take some pics.:D

my L-114 (5 inches) will come out of his ceramic log when I put food in the tank.He will push the geos around and when all the food is gone retreat back to his log. Not afraid of anything in my 90. When the lights are out in the tank he is all over.

I will try and post pics this weekend. Kevaldo thanks :) . Bluey seems intent on hiding behind those two plants in the back left of the tank  . I dont see any plant damage from him eating them so I might add two more plants Sunday. I heard that even though blue eyes eat cucumber and zuccini its a bad move cause it clouds the water really bad.

For first foods, zucchini/courgette might be a better choice, or possibly potato/sweet potato, I find newly imported fish sometimes take veggies before they're willing to take wafers or pellets.
Also, veggies will only cloud the water if you leave them in for more than 12 hours and the filtration is crappy, I feed all my panaques and many of my other loricariids zuccini, just put the veggies in overnight and take them out in the morning.
