My acrylic has been blurry since I moved to Houston. I haven't made a post about it because I couldn't figure out how to get a picture to explain it. I'm thinking it is from when I left a gallon of vinegar in the tank to clean off the calcium deposits. I'm not sure though. Anyway I was trying to take a picture of this tiny MTS that I just found (the blue arrow, I think it's a MTS) and I happened to so in to see how well the picture came out, and when I zoomed in I realized that you could see the blur in the rest of the tank (red circle). I know it's probably too late to fix this as the tank is full and been running for over a month. But any idea what it is and how to fix it when I have to break this tank down in 4 years?

Looks like it was smeared/melted with some type of solvent. Lepisosteus Lepisosteus is the neighborhood acrylic genius.

Funny, I just pm’d him asking him if he could help op with this.

I agree with Dloks Dloks , looks like a bit of methylene chloride might have been spilt in that spot then wiped away. Was the tank cleaned with acetone, windex or a similar product by chance?

First figure out if it’s on the inside of the tank or the outside of the tank. Then use novus 2/1 and it should go away.

Windex might have been used on the outside a few times when I first got it. Before I knew better, but this is a new development. And the only thing I've used recently is vinegar when I was breaking it down to move.

Regardless I will look into this novus 2/1. Thank you.

Is there a reason to use novus over other plastic polishes? I just ask because I can't find novus locally. I'll have to order it online which isn't a HUGE deal, I'd just prefer to pick it up from the store

You can use headlight polish as well
Thanks. Found some novus actually though.
2 questions,
1 I'm assuming you do number 2 first and then number 1.
2 if it ends up being inside my tank, could I just do the top half during a water change or is there like some curing stage where it's still toxic to fish if I refill the water after waxing?
