just bought a 4 inch male today.....i am hoping that this one i already have is a female. The males bristles are huge compared to this one so that is why i am thinking it is a female?

Females don't have bristles. If anything they have very small nubs. So if shes 4"+ without full bristled nose, then its female.

alright thanks...I was thinking that the bristles above seemed large but my new BN has very much larger bristles so i was thinking that was average for a male and this would be a female but i guess not...thanks

yes thanks...this is my older BN that i have considering i just picked up the new one today...I love having the lava rock in the tank..helps everything else stand out

Is the pic. of the new fish or the exsisting one?

this is the existing one...the new fish is a definate male...i just wasnt sure about this one

Males are the one with bristle.. which is a reason why its so hard to find females.. because females bristle are so small u can barely tell they are bristle nose...

I would venture to say the exsisting one is also a dude. Sorry man.
